Every brewery puts out a beer for the summer! It is usually light, low in alcohol and made from wheat. Two of those three apply when discussing the Summerfest offering from Sierra Nevada. It is light in color and low in alcohol. When I first enjoyed this beer last summer I was blown away by the resemblance to Budweiser! I even remarked to myself, “This tastes like Budweiser.” The key is that I didn’t respond back! I had the chance to talk about this beer with one of the regional reps at the ...
Some of my favorite things that have come from Scotland are Sean Connery, scotch, and kilts! There is one more important item to originate from this beautiful country and that is the shilling (the British made them use it), which is where O’dell’s got the name for this beer. JT posted "1792" to our podcast account on iTunes late last week, but because of everything else going on in my world, I haven't been able to comment. So here we go! The Tom Moore distillery has done a great job of producing this very mature 8 year old bourbon. There are wonderful hints of leather, corn, honey, butter, caramel, and pepper. We all agreed that this was a bourbon that needed to be cut, because it was just too rough by itself. ...
