We have crossed the Atlantic in search of a traditional lager beer to make us feel like we’re at Oktoberfest! Paulaner’s Oktoberfest does not disappoint! This beer had a very familiar flavor; I likened it to Bob’s 47 from Boulevard Brewing Company and Sam Adam’s Octoberfest. This beer has a sweet, malty smell in the [...]

This was a terrific pale ale that I found fulfilled all of the prophecies of great pale ales! The Shmaltz Brewing Company has a great website detailing the history and story behind their cause. Some may say that they are a bit arrogant and insensitive, but one thing is for sure they can make a [...]

So there is a level of familiarity with this style of beer. But, Steven’s Point does something a bit different with their pale ale. They [...]

I was really excited to enjoy this beer! I love Belgian yeast strains and this is one of the more popular beers that brews with Belgian yeast. Schlafly does a fantastic job with this complex beer! The beer opens with a great smell, very floral and sweet. When poured into a glass, it is a [...]

Now this is more like it! Big Sky IPA is a terrific full flavored beer, “Ladies, you better hold on to your panties, because this is going to be fun!” This IPA is another great submission to one of our favorite styles of beer. It has a strong backbone, great nose smell, and full mouth [...]

This is a terrific beer! The entire group loved this one! It is a very malty beer, with just enough hops to make a memorable beer. The first thing that we all noticed was the sweet, smoky malt smell in the bottle. When poured, this beer has great foam action and [...]

The bottle laid claim to being the best pumpkin ale! This one is in the disappointing category of pumpkin ales. Pyramid Brewing Company has many fine ales to their name, but should reconsider when offering to bottle this beer. It has a lot more spice than the Blue Moon “Harvest Moon” and so instead of [...]
